Mentally and emotionally I’m exhausted

My soul has been ripped apart

I’ve been battling this spiritual war for years

When I could have hid with God from the start

I feel safe with God in this Secret Place

He protects me and relieves my pain

I’m far away from the enemy’s grip

And their evil, torturous game

I thank God for allowing me access

To His Secret Place above

I hear God’s voice in the droplets of rain,

I feel so much sorrow, disappointment, and pain

I see a darkness covering this world we are in

Overtaken by satan, the ruler of air and sin

My life was insane, the drugs kicked my ass

When I didn’t know how to live with my past

Time went real slow, but I didn’t give in

You were there for me through thick and through thin

There was a time when the cravings were bad

You told me that was normal and never got mad

When days aren’t so good and things kind of look black,
